It doesn’t matter if I had stopped earlier

I’d still feel the same as I do now

so as to know now

what I did not properly execute then

Would not have changed the end

When would not to have wanted anything other

Than to be doing something other than this

could have saved myself from a world of hurt

When if I had been sober

as if the path of contemplation would have led to more reserves

The best life I still believe is one in which indulgence should not be be terminal

For in all we conceive we still have to learn forever if it is to be the divine spiritual

My Dad a year ago today died

But explanations and remorse I must defy

And in the day-drinking bliss I cannot be denied.

To lead me to know I need to stop

and of that no good came or will

for there is no alternative

but to take to numb

in a world where we shouldn't be haunted and concerned.
