LIFE ON EARTH EXTINCT
Maybe one or two survive who knows?

LIFE ON EARTH EXTINCT
The morning never opened,
The sun forgot to rise,
Only a blood-red shadow
Hung bleeding in the skies.
The birds had lost their music,
Their nests were filled with dust,
The trees stood bent and broken,
Their bones had turned to rust.
The oceans stopped their breathing,
Dead fish kissed the shore,
The waves crawled in like ghosts,
Then moved no more.
The cities had gone silent,
No footsteps walked the street,
Empty houses waited
For hearts that used to beat.
The clocks still told the hours,
But time had lost its way,
For nobody was living
To see another day.
One woman stood there watching
The last red sunset fall,
She called out every name,
But death had taken all.
She thought about the laughter,
The children and their games,
Now photographs lay burning
Inside their broken frames.
A tiny flower trembled
Beside her tired feet,
The final breath of beauty
Still fighting through the heat.
She bent and softly touched it,
Then darkness filled the sky,
The flower closed its petals,
As if it knew goodbye.
The Earth gave one last heartbeat,
Then vanished into night,
Life had become a memory—
Extinct before first light.
