This morning I learned that a friend died.

He was a good man.

He was a family man.

He was a MAN who loved his GOD.

He was raised in church.

He was faithful.

He survived a fire that consumed an entire dorm.

He was one of the boys at Lee College in 1993.

His feet smelled like God cursed him.

I know because he cursed me with them when removing shoes on random days.

We stood together to honor his cousin's wedding.

And it was he who hung out with me in a cold mobile home that night before departure back to Louisville.

He dropped me at the airport in December 1996 with a hug and "until we meet again".

This morning "until we meet again" is far more heavy.

This morning "until we meet again" means that his wife and children are without mate and father.

This morning "until we meet again" requires me to face my own mortality.

This morning "until we meet again" means "I miss you brother and I will always miss you."

...Until we meet again
