Letting Go

She didn't dare breathe,

Nor run her hands like the river.

Did not give her mind the thought,

or her heart the right to quiver.

*

She weaved a cloth so carefully true,

With intricate details to find.

Then wrapped it tightly through her veins,

And all around her mind.

*

No fire can reach her innermost cambers,

No wind can blow her delicate heart.

No flesh can mold deep within her,

Beneath her woven peace of art.

*

And so she stayed forevermore,

Too afraid to pride and show.

She never had the courage to learn

To unveil the covers and just... let go!
