Leto's Daughter

An Ode to Artemis

By Josey PickeringPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

The moonlight dances

upon silverly lakes

singing the praises

of its Delosian diety divine.

She blankets herself with the stars,

draping the wilderness on her shoulders

as she plays narrow branches like a lyre.

She tightens her grip on her bow of cyclops bone,

and her arrow whistles through the air like a siren's song,

luring her prey.

The mountains witness her majesty,

and her throne is the forest floor,

where she finds the flora her handmaidens fair.

The golden stag leads

his huntress on her chariot,

as even the mighty bear bows at her passing.
