A Walk in my Shoes

Before you turn your biased views

into what you deem as ultimate truths,

please, come join me for a walk…👣

a walk in my shoes…👣

Not the polished pair I wear for show,

but the tattered ones from long ago.

The ones that carried me through storms and shame,

through silent battles and whispered blame.

Step where I’ve stepped—where the pavement cracked,

where hope was thin and strength was sacked.

Trace the echo of each heavy tread,

where dreams once danced and then played dead.

Feel the stones I learned to hide,

the weight of worth I was denied.

And maybe then, you’ll pause your claim,

and see my scars without the shame.

So don’t define me by your view—

there’s more I’ve lived than you ever knew.

Judge less loudly, listen more…

and you just might find what empathy’s for.

Because truth isn’t forged in black or white—

it’s shaped by footsteps walked through night.

And until you’ve felt the weight I bear,

your judgment isn’t truth… it’s unaware.
