Let me hear you
Hearing me
Respond
Reply
Give me a sign
That you are there
Beyond a doubt
Beyond certainty
I want you to be
With me
Here in the present
Though I can’t see
My eyes are open
Blindly
So remind me
That your voice hasn’t died
Because I’ve tried
To reach you
I beseech you
Please do
Whatever you can
Show me you care
Reach out your hand
Through centuries of air
Are you there?
Yes I feel you now
Like the sweat
Upon my brow
The marker of my work
The beacon of my hurt
The toil I don’t spare
To show you
That I care.
