Let It Come

A Poem

By Bailey SchullPublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

The clouds they hover with no remorse, with dark, with dim, with gloom;

Rain soaks our hair, our clothes, our shoes, the walls of every room.

Nothing can protect us now, nothing to keep us dry,

Not you, not me, no trees with branches roaring in the sky.

Nothing to protect us now, not even the crowded sun.

Standing in the rain together, I say let it come.

Still, nothing can protect us and nothing ever will,

So when the rain falls down on us, we race to the top of the hill.

Our fingers enlaced, our hearts beating as one,

We yell, we scream, we tell the world,

We say let it come.
