let him run

and run he will

In the darkness of the night,

A child runs with all his might,

Through streets and alleys, he does race,

With a smile on his young face.

His feet pounding against the ground,

He moves without making a sound,

The world around him fades away,

As he runs towards a brand new day.

The moon shines down upon his face,

Illuminating his joy and grace,

He feels the wind brush through his hair,

And revels in the freedom there.

With every step, he grows more strong,

And feels like he could run all night long,

His heart beating like a drum,

As he runs towards a better tomorrow to come.

For in this moment, all is right,

And the world is free from worry and plight,

With each stride, he leaves behind,

The troubles that weighed on his young mind.

He runs towards a brighter day,

Where the sun shines down and all is gay,

And as he races through the night,

He knows he'll make it to the light.

For in his heart, he holds the key,

To unlock the doors of destiny,

And with every breath, he takes,

He knows he's one step closer to his fate.

So let him run, and run he will,

For he's a child with a heart to fill,

With dreams and hope and endless love,

And the courage to soar on wings above.

For he knows that with each passing night,

The world grows brighter and more bright,

And as he runs towards the dawn,

He knows he'll make it to the morn.

So let him run, and run he will,

For he's a child with a heart to fill,

With dreams and hope and endless love,

And the courage to soar on wings above.
