Lessons Learned: Preparing for the Next Pandemic

Strengthening Science, Working Together, and Finding Hope in the Face of Future Viral Outbreaks

A virus once again has spread,

And many lives have been misled,

But we must learn from this past pain,

To better prepare for the next campaign.

With every cough and every sneeze,

We'll work to stem the spread with ease,

With masks and distancing in place,

We'll slow the virus' deadly pace.

We'll strengthen science and research,

To better understand this viral scourge,

And create new treatments and vaccines,

To stop the virus in its tracks, it seems.

We'll work together, hand in hand,

To bring an end to this viral land,

And in the future, we'll be ready,

For whatever virus may come, steady.

With knowledge, science, and a collective will,

We'll work to end the pandemic still,

And move forward with renewed hope,

With our global community, we'll find a way to cope.
