Leave the Graves of Yesterday Behind

Why the burden?

We must not go back to our graves,

Where memories of the past enslave,

And thoughts of what was and might have been,

Chain us to what we've already seen.

The "who have done me what" mentality,

Keeps us chained to our own mortality,

For dwelling in anger and sorrow,

Brings no peace, no hope for tomorrow.

Let go of worry, let go of blame,

Forgive yourself for mistakes and shame,

For life is a journey, not a test,

And it's never too late to do your best.

The "who have done me what" mentality,

Keeps us chained to our own mortality,

For dwelling in anger and sorrow,

Brings no peace, no hope for tomorrow.

Let go of worry, let go of blame,

Forgive yourself for mistakes and shame,

For life is a journey, not a test,

And it's never too late to do your best.
