Learning to Walk Again
Mind Over Matter
Although, I have progressed from last year to walking with a cane to be able to walk on my own is my testimony
It was a time that I felt like giving up, yet it would only hurt me the most…that I would just stop trying
I was at a place of the lowest that I could become…I even missed my bachelor’s graduation ceremony
My surgery was corrected so that I could be able to have a normal gait
I did just enough to stay in my comfort zone so that a little progress is better than nothing
Unfortunately, time keeps moving it is the only thing that does not wait
My life has honestly been a real-life movie yet turn a negative into a positive is more effective
It taught me to either play the victim or do more to be more proactive
What am I willing to do to get to where I need to be less protective and more selective?
When I reminisce on last year I worked maybe 3 months out of the last year
It is a new day and I can walk down the road to the store and exercise
It makes me look at life from a different perspective without fear
I look at how privileged I am to be given a gift that some many others will not have a choice
I will be able to return to work and I have my confidence back
I reach out to others because what I went through could have broke me…instead I use my voice
I hold my head up high because of the will power to see what others thought was impossible… the come back
I never for one second allowed pity or to accept what had happened to me
However, I took the same bricks to stand on to get right back on track
Never allow what happened to restrict you from being the best so keep pushing forward to the finish line
You are more than the circumstance that happened to you…hold your head high…give all you’ve got, and you will be just fine
