Lavender Lane
The loveliest smell in this land

Lavender Lane
Lavender growing by the road,
Soft and purple, neat in rows.
Buzz of bees and summer sun,
Smells like peace when day is done.
Petals dancing in the breeze,
Swaying soft with quiet ease.
Morning light and skies so wide,
Lavender stands side by side.
Old stone wall and wooden gate,
Slow the steps, no need to wait.
Hands brush past each violet head,
Breathing in that scent instead.
Farmhouse near with shutters blue,
Washing lines and meadow view.
Baskets full from harvest day,
Tied in bunches, tucked in hay.
Sleep comes quick where flowers grow,
Under moon’s familiar glow.
Lavender in dreams appears,
Softening the hardest years.
Not much else a soul could need.
Just a path, some air, and seed.
Let it bloom and take its time,
Lavender in gentle rhyme
