Latvian Eyes

just a look

By BrenPublished 4 years ago • 1 min read

she was a fair Norwegian princess

she gave her heart

she gave it whole

it had nothing to do with size

she had Latvian eyes

i held the door for her at the theatre

she scanned me once she scanned me twice

she shimmered with a thousand heats

she was a fire every night

she had Latvian eyes

Bette Davis was a conceptual idea

not a visual prize

Kim Carnes herself

tried to tell us tried to sell us

she had Latvian eyes

she was a champion

of both time and space

took a bit to finally realise

it was all the same vision

she had Latvian eyes

as with every single morning broken

and all the other dawns

they slowly rise

above and below the cloudy sky

she had Latvian eyes

surreal poetry
