Landfall

Poem

By Ken VoitaPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

"Landfall"

My landfall was made on cerulean shores, waves made of cyan knocked upon my door

I counted flowers in the dark and wondered, "what for?"

This dreamer will dream, far up to the clouds, till I reach the sun and figure that out.

Burnt umber between my toes with every step, towards the artists palette of daydreaming sky.

Yellow ochre moon makes me smile, tears of no color well up in my eyes, and it feels good to get the blues.

On nights of ebony swell, I suffer me my fears and fashion my own hell, black out the canvas, keep it from the light.

From shadows hidden view, brilliant stars send their beams out for my raw sienna heart.

And I am earth pigment once again
