Lady in Red
An Apology to Dhar
Dear Reader:
I commented on a piece; someone else got hurt. And I do not know where to go with this. I feel like we should all be able to say what we want here and that we should not flame anyone for words that we did not want to hear. But I accept responsibility for not seeing how deep this would reach and I offer this brief poem as an apology.

Do I congratulate myself?
I spoke fast, made a rash decision
on the emoji culture we live in.
And you got hurt.
*
Do I stop myself?
If I live long enough to give
a slap to my conscience,
I will still feel bad.
*
Do I continue here?
I cannot end with a friend
who is an erythophile
and a point of hope.
*
Do I say even more?
There is fire, the heat you inspire
as I try to find the right words
to say it all.
