Knots

Ball of strings Helped me learn some things. All about life, the peace and the strife. Being tangled up in all kinds of knots Helped change my perspective and my thoughts. If I needed to learn one thing, It's that patience and effort can untangle anything.

Life has knots. Some meant to be untangled or to keep things from falling apart.

So yesterday I sat with the tangled ball of string. It was given to me by a man whom I shouldn't have met. And yet it was my choice to meet him and the ball of multicolored string was given anyway. God does work in mysterious ways. Perhaps it was a blessing. An angel in disguise even.

Then this morning another angel reminded me of the ball of strings. Life is like that ball of strings; all the knots tangled together. Most people would throw it away. However with a little patience, effort, hard-work and time even, it can be untangled. Think about it. There are so many lessons to be learned from this one ball of string that can be applied to life. Each different colored string could represent a trial and tribulation or a relationship. Little by little, with patience and light, one string can be weaved in and out of the mess that it's in.

Sometimes things beyond your control, like age or weakness, can make a string break. You can decide if two strings are better than the one it was or if cutting your losses is more valuable. Sometimes you might need to make the cut yourself. Just make sure before you cut that you've explored all options, viewed all perspectives to untangle so there is no regret. Once cut, the cut is final. But you can always tie ends back together, so long as you don't mind the knot.

Sometimes knots made with purpose could be beautiful and serve as a reminder of how we started and where we have been. But ultimately life is full of knots. Some meant to be untangled, some meant to keep things from falling apart. Regardless, tangled knots of various strings should never be thrown away. Just like anything in life, if you put in the effort, time and thought, what you thought was broken or worthless could very well be something quite valuable... even beautiful.
