Sitting alone at the kitchen table,
All my past battles rage within my mind.
Not all of them coexist peacefully,
Yet they all live within me.
Those who fought me without cause,
Or at least without a cause holding personal significance.
They all shared a common thread,
A desperate need for power above all else.
I reckon life holds meaning,
A driving force that propels us forward,
Whether we're awake or dreaming.
It permeates our very being.
Where does power live once channelled
At the mind of an innocent child, or a vulnerable, undeveloped teenager?
Does this show strength or contempt?
Young people possess a greater capacity for understanding,
Unburdened by this “greasy sauce of life”
That so-called adults impose upon themselves.
They consume too much fat, clogging their veins;
Excessive drinking destroys the brain,
Leaving healthy cells with no chance to function or control actions,
Replaced by unhealthy habits and fats.
Who will undo this?
Yet, with their money, they will dominate.
They'll dictate morality - good and bad -
As if they've devoured every scientific text.
Nonsense! They've read nothing.
Psychology they scorn, for it pricks their conscience,
Exposing their unhealthy ways with shameful clarity.
They spend their precious energy opposing anyone speaking truth.
So, what shall we call those who know nothing?
