Kingdom Hearts and Coffin Nails

Not everyone deserves a happily ever after.

By Kiersten FoxPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

You dig motes with your words,

arming them with venomous spite and biting insults.

Burning every bridge you ever built,

cutting ropes like Rapunzel's locks.

No turning back now-

the mighty Queen is far too noble for the peasants

she once called dear friends.

Sure, you have your Prince, blinded by the rose-colored thorns.

Yet eventually even he finds it futile

to attempt to scale your treacherous walls.

So suddenly you're alone

looking out from the tower you've locked yourself inside

sneering at the festivities below,

"Alone is what I have. Alone protects me."

But a hidden part of you quakes at the finality;

no way to get yourself out

and not a soul willing to help you down.

Looks like your Queendom is swiftly becoming a coffin

and you're nailing the lid closed from the inside
