Two Polar Reigns

Queen of the empty plains

After your toil

Your endless wait

The throne is finally yours to claim

But does it matter now?

That the once glorious kingdom has crumbled

During your struggle

Your timeless battle

Your fight to rule for the people

The people who-

You would sooner die-

Than to see fall

Has come to an end

But, now that the scepter is yours to grasp

The marvelous country has turned to ash

Thank you, your majesty, for making it through

But, alas, there is nothing left to rule

Only barren trees, and singed grass

Although the chambers call your name

Your desolate kingdom, will never be the same

King of the broken plains

Atop your sullen throne

Handed down from those who came before

You rule over this desolate land

You reign supreme over the country

Your word is law, and law is your choice

Although others want to compete

They are only people after all

People you know you are above

Your powerful rule-

Your lavish scepter-

That commands those below

They will bend to your will

Their cities toppling

Their lives ending

But at least they will serve

Although the land is no longer glorious

You retain your shimmer

You are the true and honest core

Power given from those before
