Kindness is like a lamb surrounded by wolves

like a rose surrounded by thorns.

It is that extra mile

that few people take.

It’s that check in the box

that most people say

“no, I don't have to do this.”

Kindness is the one oasis

in a mighty desert of

sand,

hurt,

pain

and suffering.

That if found,

it is a place of

strength

resurrection

and hope.

Kindness is a

lamb,

a rose,

and an oasis

for someone other than you.

It is a light in a field of darkness.

It is that small voice inside

that tells you to

keep going.

It is not what you do for yourself

but what you do for others

that matters.

Kindness is that word

that people don’t bother to right

but what other word is there for kindness?

Affection?

Tenderness?

Understanding?

Those are the words that

only describe the word kindness.

There is no other word

for the kindness that we

should show to others.

Kindness mostly reveals itself to others

when there is an audience looking,

not when there is no one to watch.

But when it is most needed

it is not always there.

To show kindness is like

receiving a beautiful gift.

When you give you will

always get something back

even though it is not a thing,

not something you can

hold in your hand

but a mental feeling that tells you

“do it again.”

Yes, kindness is a mile for you

but a just a few steps

for others.

Yes, kindness is a thorn for you

but a beautiful rose

for others.

Kindness is a lamb,

white and young.
