Killing Me Slowly

Time, my hurt is not at your fault… Please don’t blame yourself for where I am.

Time,

You have become your own form of torture‐

every second,

every minute,

and every hour

has become wretched,

desolate,

and sour, but‐

I don't blame you.

Throughout all of this, you've been merely a bystander.

I'm sorry for what you've had to witness...

It wasn't you, that turned my heart against me,

and it isn't you now, who twists my thoughts all around...

stirring up anguish, agony and all‐

together we are merely waiting for the last of me to fall.

It's Despair, and Desire who are the true authors of these Tales of Torment,

I am merely the vessel they have chosen to use...

lucky me, right?...

No.

They've been killing me, slowly,

day after day,

and night after night.

Taking their time, they've forced you to watch...

Time, you may close your eyes but listen to what little voice I have left‐

this isn't your fault...

no, not at all.

In retrospect...

it's mine.

Time,

you've been used...

as a weapon formed against me,

turned into a new form of torture,

to kill...

me...

ever, so slowly.

About the Creator

JM

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
