Just Seen

A Moment of Meeting Myself

By Mingling with the Moon Published about a year ago 1 min read
A Moment of Meeting Myself

It happened over the bouquet of moments

A moment of epiphany

Brushing against my ego

Crippled, collapsing inward

Myself draped in ambitions, illusions, and confusions

Layered, unfolding: one after the other

I found the light reaching from the place beyond the grief

I found my voice hidden under the dirt of doubts and disbelief

As if the light felt warmer but stingy

Gratitude, not shame, is what I feel

Cried for the mercy that He showed

Despite my ignorance

Lost in despair

It was in a soft knock

A whisper of a bird

A pappus of dandelions

The corolla of a wildflower

A clove of deep neem

That I saw myself for the first time

Soul first

A drop in the stomach like a sailor’s prayer

before the sour sea swallows the sky

Thumping in the chest

A light whisper

A sigh of relief

A breath I didn’t know I was holding

It did not come with the thunder

It did not feel heavy

No earth shaken

No sky shattered

It was just enough—a quiet sound

I heard myself for the first time

I met myself for the very first time
