Just an ornery child

whose honoring something wild

Where is he going?

while everything is flowing

He is not an ordinary bird of the flock

no longer hanging out by the dock

People say he is going nowhere

The steeple says he is going

to migrate to new lands

and he doesn't really have many plans

Jesus Christ saved him

from being just another dim

going out on a whim

just another injured limb

so break a leg

Don't drink the whole keg

What kind of hole did you dig

to jump in

to stay thin?

How he has to say another word

before he can go out to the dock?

surreal poetry
