 So I can remember

what a sweet, perfect, precious cherub you are

 when you're unconscious

of the fact that I am making myself

 a sandwich

I will not cut the crusts off

I will not give you all the best parts

of me

 subsisting on crusts

Just go to bed

 on time

I need my hour

 Before my bedtime

by myself

tomorrow will be a new day

and you will have a new parent

 Good as new

one who remembers who they are

 without kids

That will be new

 and you

will be better for it
