Just Below the Surface

Concealed but painfully real

Festering

Just beneath the surface

Lies, percolate

Forming a pustule

Expanding and pulsating

The more gingerly

You handle them

The larger it swells

Spreading its reek deeper

Widening out

There are two states

Growing

And burst

The day finally comes

When the cracks

Overflow

Pressure breaches

The propagating load of filth

Explodes onto the

Outside world

Contaminating

All touched

By its spreading

Tendrils of

Overwhelming doubt

Leaving you mired

In melancholy

Frozen in place

Dropping to your knees

In paralyzed grief

It takes less time

Than you would think

To film over

Crustifying

Putrifying

Under layers of

Ruminating think
