Just Because

A sad poem

By Success OdionPublished 3 years ago • 1 min read

Just because the love we shared has faded away, Doesn't mean the memories won't linger, where they stay. Just because the laughter echoes, a distant melody, Doesn't mean the joy we felt has vanished completely.

Just because the words we spoke turned bitter and cold, Doesn't mean the tenderness we had can't be untold. Just because the promises we made were broken apart, Doesn't mean the love we had won't leave its mark on my heart.

Just because the nights are lonely, filled with tears, Doesn't mean the happiness we had will disappear. Just because the dreams we built crumbled to dust, Doesn't mean the love we had wasn't real, it was just.

But just because it ended, doesn't mean it was in vain, For in the pain, I found strength, and grew through the strain. Just because it hurts, the ache won't last forever, I'll heal, I'll find solace, and learn to love again, however.

Just because the chapters closed, the story is done, Doesn't mean my heart won't beat, for a new love to come. Just because we drifted apart, like ships on the sea, Doesn't mean the love we had won't always be a part of me.

So I'll cherish the memories, the laughter and the tears, And embrace the lessons learned, as I face my fears. For just because it ended, doesn't mean it defines my worth, I'll rise, I'll heal, and find love's embrace on this new path's birth.
