Just Another “What If…”

Don't answer any of my questions, just imagine...

I can only imagine,

the distance I would've traveled,

if I had ran at first thought—

Why am I still here?...

showing up

showing my face‐

Why haven't I ran away?...

to elsewhere

to anywhere but this place‐

Why don't I just drop everything and turn face?

What, or who, is stopping me?

keeping me here,

on this earth on which I disbelieve in any kind of relief...

saving me from throwing myself away,

into the form of past tense from which one does not return...

This cloud of witnesses that surrounds me,

I am certain does not know the purpose they are unconsciously accomplishing...

and I'm sure they are unaware of just how close I've come to not coming back‐

Why am I still here?...

showing up

showing my face‐

Why haven't I ran away?...

to elsewhere

to anywhere but this place‐

Don't answer any of my questions...

just imagine,

the ground that would've been covered,

if I had just ran at first thought—

About the Creator

JM

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
