just a handful

my november lament

just a handful of strangers

who she can call friends

on this long road through hell

that may never end

.

she prays to the gods

that they set her free,

but so deeply despairing

“can they even hear me?”

.

just a handful of pennies

to keep her from death’s door

but hunger prevails

as her daily encore

.

and the paint it peels

down more mouldy green walls

where sunlight evades

and fear prevails

.

just a handful of hope

to keep her from death

perhaps that’s the point

of this never ending test?

.

will she break

or will she stand tall

as we throw everything and more

to see if she falls

.

It’s been a while since I posted anything…

in all honesty I’ve been struggling a lot these past couple of months. I’m only just starting to feel more ‘normal’ again after what has been a very dark hole of depression I found myself trying to claw my way back out of.
