Noel and Sara- Best Friends Bracelets even as adults <3

Unfortunate news for the snakes I've survived: I am officially happy again. πŸ’€

Unless you're new here or you just stumbled in here by accident (hi, how are ya?) you know I’ve been on an absolute marathon of a healing journey. I’ve basically been the poster child for processing trauma and sucking the last remaining drops of poison out of a long history of abuse. It was a lot. I was tired. You were probably tired.

But guess what? The poison is drained, the vibes are back, and I finally feel that silly personality popping through again! Almost feels like breathing for the first time after you've had your head held underwater for way too long and it's incredible.

To celebrate me not being a miserable twerp, I’ve finished up a brand new song that I wanna share. It started out as poem for my best friend of over 20 years, but transformed into a fun song about what it was like growing up together on the street we met on.

The sound is my favorite thing ever. Think peak early 2000s emo nostalgia. It’s fun and the world desperately needs this level of angst right now. Also, I kinda impressed myself on that final high note. Just saying.

I’m back, I’m loud, and I’m ready to have some fun. Go listen and let me know if it makes you want to side-part your hair again. πŸ‘‡

Juniper Street

We started small with scraped up knees

and secrets whispered low

horror movies, snacks, and sleep overs

we watched each other grow

πŸ’™πŸ©·

Two kids running down Juniper Street

mapping out the Barstow sun

before we knew how hard the world

could break what we'd begun

πŸ’™πŸ©·

And every time the thunder hit

you were the one who stayed

the first to see the truth in me

when all my colors frayed

πŸ’™πŸ©·

We were built from something stronger

than the years that tried to bend us

through the heartbreaks, through the chaos

we were always there to save us

πŸ’™πŸ©·

if the world starts falling sideways

we don't run, we don't retreat

cuz we learned how to survive it

back on Juniper Street

πŸ’™πŸ©·

Juniper Street

πŸ’™πŸ©·

From the rush of every silly crush

and the weight of a wedding gown

you were the hand that held me up

when the world was falling down

πŸ’™πŸ©·

Through the magic of the "I do" vows

through pregnancy and toddler years

our late night kitchen talks

and the salt of a thousand tears

πŸ’™πŸ©·

and when the laughter disappeared

when our secrets turned to lead

we held each other's hands so tight

through every truth we said

πŸ’™πŸ©·

CHORUS

πŸ’™πŸ©·

Friends fade out like old photographs

but we never lost our spark

we kept walking through the cracked up roads

through every heavy, haunted part

πŸ’™πŸ©·

And when the world gets loud and cold

and the bad news starts to creep

I remember who we used to be

and the promises we keep

πŸ’™πŸ©·

We were built from something stronger

than the years that tried to bend us

through the heartbreaks, through the chaos

we were always there to save us

πŸ’™πŸ©·

Let the days turn into decades

let the world keep picking speed

as long as we have each other, Noel

We've got all we'll ever need
