journal entry #1

a penny for my thoughts.

By Summer RobinsonPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

Am I having a crisis that one might call existential? Or am I just extra mental?

I’ve always loved that one quote—how does it go?

“Should heaven decline to take me, leave me in the shade of the tallest tree.”

The thought of returning to dust offers a moment of tranquility.

Maybe lonely was the only thing I was ever destined to be.

After all, I’m nothing more than an accessory—just a thing to wear or title to bear, but never just thee.

God, how many times will I have to plea?

I don’t want to be like Job, so put me out of my misery.

Carrying it all myself has gotten really heavy.

You all are oblivious. Can you really not see?

Unless my thoughts deceive me, and I really am just a liability.

If only the Maker’s breath would leave my lungs, I’d finally be free.

These feelings… they come and go, but they serve as my advisory

What does it matter? When it’s my time, you’ll all forget me.

Or both?
