JOMO>FOMO

Poem. Inspiration. Advice. Take from it what you want!

By Paul StewartPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

Each and every single person across the planet has a purpose beyond just breathing and taking up space that may take them a long time to figure out but that does not mean they are any less important than anyone who has their shit figured out.

That's not what life is about.

We all have to find our space, our place, the one place and purpose that makes us feel happy and content, useful and respected or simply loved and cherished, regardless of what others may think about it, as they are choices each of us has to make as individuals.

That’s life, that’s what it’s about.

Fear of missing out, fear of a better option, you only live one, fear of joining in and the joy of missing out, fear of the mystery of missing out, mystery of missing out, bromo, slomo, the joy of missing out, the fer of doing anything at all, ever.

Social media isn’t life, it’s filtered down and illusionary, it’s not life.

Do what you want, when you want, with who you want, for whatever reason you want because if it’s not hurting anyone, it’s not dangerous (in a relative sense), offensive (in a relative sense), then it’s not something you need to worry about.

That’s life, that’s what it’s all about

Try your best, for your best, don’t live in other people’s shadows, don’t follow other people’s aspirations, dreams, and beliefs, if they are not your own – don’t try to be someone, anyone you are not, you are you and you are special.

Be yourself for yourself.

This is exactly the kind of thing I needed to hear today - Thanks Paul!

  • What if the who I want doesn't want to do what I want when I want (or anything at all at any time at all whatsoever)?

  • I'm so glad you came back to this and expanded! I loved it so much. "YOU DO YOU". That's the best way we can love ourselves! 🍩🥐

I WANT this to resonate, but I put a lot of work into being better that my true self for myself, for my kids, for my partner. Probably, if I am honest, still for my parents too. My true self is extremely selfish and lazy.
