Jólakötturinn - The Yule Cat

Introduction

I found this in a Facebook article which explains the real legend, but I am just going to use it as a short Ghazal.

In Icelandic folklore Jólakötturinn, the Yule Cat, comes to eat those who do not wear their new clothes for Christmas.

The music is "Lucifer Sam" by Pink Floyd, with a great video by Steve Bobinski

What's That Dark Shadow You See Outside

Are You Now Going To Run And Hide?

❄️🙀❄️

You Have Been A Most Ungrateful Child

Jólakötturinn Will Tan Your Hide

Threw Your Christmas Jumper In The Bin

The Yule Cat Does Not Have to Decide

Jólakötturinn Eats Bad Children

Drags Them Off Into The Winter Night

The Yule Cat, The Pet Of Santa's Trolls

And The Scourge Of The Ungrateful Child

Make Sure You Wear Your Christmas Jumper

And Be Grateful On This Christmastide

Then Jólakötturinn Will Pass By

And Look For More Miscreants To Find
