Let's learn

Never been to Japan,

but I love their language and philosophies.

So, I paint,

and derive joy.

Let me share.

Cherry is sakura,

the symbol of fleeting life.

Crane is tsuru,

the symbol of good fortune.

Black and red koi have different meanings,

red is power, passion.

black is resilience.

Bamboo is take,

symbolizes flexibility.

Mountain is yama,

Mount Fuji, the symbol of endurance,

the identity of Nippon.

Snow is yuki,

on which Basho wrote

immortal haikus.

Sun is taiyō,

symbol of brightness and vitality.

Camellia is tsubaki.

and chrysanthemum is kiku.

both are symbols of longevity.

So many lovely words,

and virtues they symbolize.

A culture that values

it's elements,

deserves my respect,

and worthy of sharing.
