January Sun

This morning I got up 'n outside

just as the sun said hi.

Thank heavens I was early enough

to watch it beam and rise.

I stood outside

right in its path,

although it was so cold.

See I could see the wall of clouds

coming to stop the show.

I closed my eyes

and felt its warmth,

however long it stayed.

Sang thank you sun

for all you've done,

I’m grateful for this day.
