Jalisco: The Passage of the Wand

The Clouds are White

By Rick Henry Christopher Published about a year ago • Updated about a year ago • 1 min read

The clouds are white

The sky is blue

The sea is green

The land is you

I understand

I understand

I have the wand

You get it next

Niewari sikwiri,

Niekari nuyai.

Nima tziquira,

Nekari nuhu.

Naka ni,

Naka ni,

Nitzikua ni,

Nima niktika

(Dedicated to my Aunt Toni who passed away at the age of 97 at 1:30 am on Saturday April 12, 2025. Born on June 13, 1927)

The English lyrics repeat in the Huichol language which is an indigenous Aztec language which goes back many generations. I am Aztec on my mom’s side and Nordic from my father.
