Jack, the cat

Our pets and us

My cat, dear Jack, adorable is he.

"Meeeow, meow, mao," Jack says to me.

I gave him water and gave him his food.

Gave him pets to brighten his mood.

Jack, the cat, now purrs at me.

This entry is for the "Ludicrous Limerick" Challenge that is running from March 7, 2023 to March 23, 2023 with winners to be announced April 12, 2023. The instructions are to "write a limerick about the absurdities of life."

While I don't think owning pets is an odd thing, I have come across a few people who think that taking care of a creature that never will be able to care for itself is a strange way for someone to spend their money, time, and effort.

This limerick poem goes out to those people.

Meanwhile, I will pet my crazy little kitty while he waits not-so-patiently, swishing his tail at me while I type this, so he can have his water refilled.
