Where I’m from rivers flow north not south.
I don’t belong in that circle of Griffins,
if such a circle of Griffins exists, in
a sense—I believe a phoenix exists
In the forest within me a phoenix—truly
I have this thing for chairs rudely or maybe,
I have this thing for what fits in chairs.
The woods are dark and deep in the north
In the north until the tree line, dark, deep, cool
I dumpster dove for one once down south.
After diving down south I brought one home
It was one that could fit all extents.
All extents were whoppers. I brought them home.
Where I’m from rivers flow north not south.
