It Sticks To You

It sticks to you

like glue,

all slick and clingy,

Mucking up your pores.

That no matter how hard you try.

How you scrub,

claw and rub away,

That feeling stays.

Like a sort of stain,

Somewhat disgusting and vile.

When water, sweat and blood cannot wipe clean.

It sticks to you.

God, sometimes it's hard

Hard to be in love.
