It’s Five O’ Clock

Come Monday, It’ll Be Alright

My tribute to Jimmy Buffet

Cheeseburgers and flip flops

navigational beacons

Paradise as the sun drops

moments pass while you’re blinking

🍔

The feel good rhythms of a steal guitar

cast away notions, of a small seaside bar

The casual escapes down by the ocean

margaritas and lime, melodies with devotion

🍹

Wasted away, searching again,

for that lost shaker of salt

Singing like it’s all pretend

found it’s nobody’s fault

🧂

Sail on Jimmy boy

We won’t forget what you said

The sun’s power to employ

Played on repeat in our heads

⛵️

Never the same

no one could play as you did

We’ll always remember your name

reliving when we were just kids

🎸

Some will only rock out

to ol’ molly hatchett

But we know, when life’s headed south

nothing compares to some Buffet

surreal poetry

Rest in peace Jimmy Buffet. This was such a wonderful tribute!

Dear Mrs. Kelli - An outstanding and noticeable thing about your work is that you rarely focus back at yourself within your stories that I've read - that so many of us do - including me of course. You're always about your subject at hand; it's about them, and not about you, you are a marvelous StoryTeller. *I'm hoping that you take this as a compliment; I'm certain others have noticed this as well.
