Your smile—is it real?
"No, it's filled with a void."
It previously held something.
That was her presence,
and her delicious food,
cooked daily for you.
Her funny dance moves,
just for you.
making sure that you smile
Now that she's gone
She took away your genuine smile.
She left with it.
Only a void exists within you.
Your heart bleeds.
The scars are buried.
Your heart needs someone special.
a replacement for your woman.
You're in pain,
but people believe you are fine.
Because of your smile
They don't realize you miss her.
They have no idea;
you still need her close.
They think you're doing well.
They see peace
and happiness in you.
Nonetheless,
you are a sobbing man.
With a smile,
filled with a void!

The last time I laughed so hard that my belly hurt was ___________ Rupi Kaur's Gratitude Writing Prompts When I was 24 and going to a women's support group we would laugh, I would go home with a sore face and sore sides. Why? I wasn't used to smiling or laughing. After a few months of doing that, I never have a sore face, sides, or belly from laughing as I laugh enough.
