It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad World
Love At First Sight
Colors fade, when your worlds torn apart, like a mist on a cool summer’s eve
Blues and greens blend and blur into one mellow mess, when you wear how you feel on your sleeve
The deed complete now, the damage is done, the wounded broken there, in your wake
With a bright flash of light, like gunfire sparks, trusting you was my greatest mistake
As I shake off the blow, dust myself off and regroup, there you stand with that smirk on your face
Not a single mark on you, to show the carnage you leave, every strand of your hair in its place
Its a mad -mad -mad world with no limits on love, party’s play, using hearts as their bets
Just remember that no-one gets out unscathed, win some - lose some, you learn how to live with regrets
I hope one day to meet me again, maybe for the first time in my life
Find a love to make me feel beautifully whole, be my own true love, at first sight

Creative poem! Fabulous!
Great poem! Evoke some great mental images!
I loved all of this, but especially the end. I've been there, hoping to meet me again down the road and that I'd know how to love myself when it happened.
Sweet. Sad. Hopeful. 🥰
