Isn't it funny?

The voice that used to be used to calm my nightmares,

Now when I hear it laugh, my heart races and my shoulders tense.

Maybe I shouldn’t say it’s funny.

I’m not laughing.

And the tone that your voice rings with no longer carries the happy memories of years past.

It isn’t funny.

I can hear your love for me dying in the laughter that once brought me endless hours of joy.

It isn’t funny.

Hearing the way your words, still sweet, no longer mean “I love you”.

The way they are full of bitterness.

It isn’t funny, watching our love die.
