There is an inferno at the heart of an island in the sea,

The fires flagged and knocked on the palm trees,

And heavy breeze could not ebb the tree smoked chimneys,

The children seek shelter to better breathe:

The creamy sand is our sanctuary

The creamy sand is the dock of our dreams

And hopefully at today or morrow sea

Our salvation anchor our sandy sanctuary

Where our starving dreams become reality;

Nodding off to dusky lullaby, the sea like louder surge,

Barren night yet grove behind, burning silently, disturbed

Our escape to sleep, and our lives in better dreams,

Where we hoped that salvation come and bring us peace:

The creamy sand is our sanctuary

The creamy sand is the dock of our dreams

And hopefully at today or morrows sea

Our salvation anchor our sandy sanctuary

Where our starving reality was all a dream;

The children are astir and stir a vortex in the sea,

That loops harsher and faster and dangerously,

Their escape to sleep seemed heavenly bliss,

For in dreams promise made upon their wish:

The creamy sand is our sanctuary

The creamy sand is the dock of our dreams

And hopefully at tomorrow or morrows sea

Our salvation anchor our sandy sanctuary

Where our starving dreams become reality
