The night sky spreads from end to end,

Holding secrets it won’t send,

Millions of stars above us glow,

Guarding things we may not know.

People watch and people wait,

Looking past the hand of fate,

Searching for a distant sign,

Hidden somewhere out in time.

Stories travel far and wide,

Of strange lights that seem to glide,

Crossing skies without a sound,

Then disappearing all around.

Some believe with all their heart,

Others say it’s science’s part,

Yet the question still survives,

Keeping wonderment alive.

The universe is vast indeed,

Far beyond what eyes can read,

Planets circle distant suns,

More than anyone has known.

Could there be another place,

Filled with life and different faces,

Watching stars as we do too,

Wondering if we’re out there too?

No one holds the final key,

To unlock this mystery,

Yet questions help our minds explore,

And seek what waits beyond the door.

Until answers finally appear,

We’ll keep searching year by year,

Looking upward through the night,
