When I was five this boy told me his favorite color was pink, I laughed,
Then proceeded to decided that mine would be green,
From that day on whenever I was asked I would tell people proudly,
As I got older color stopped mattering,
I only cared about it if it made me look flattering,
If the person I liked told me I looked sexy I choose my clothes accordingly,
That’s why In my Instagram I only wear red,
blondes are prettier that way at least that’s what he said,
By he I mean my dad,
the man you love from the minute you’re conceived,
I hate the color though because of the things he said,
Like I love you,
I guess it wasn’t enough to stop him,
he still left,
Now when people ask the question we circle back, but it’s not green,
I changed it to pink it reminds me of my mom,
The warmth she brings,
Funny how colors hold emotions and remind of us of things like people,
my sisters purpled for instance I don’t feel like I need to explain,
I think I would be clear It’s the only color that hold them all,
That describes me to a tee,
My story’s the same as most girls I’m not pretending I’m special or unique,
Just relatable and still changing
