Irresolution

'Til We Meet Again

By Colton McClintockPublished 3 days ago • 1 min read

‘Til we are ghosts, my flesh haunts this ruin

Which gives life to the fantasy of truth

And obscures the cutting state I rue in

Trading today for perfect newfound youth

‘Til you find me upon the neutral shore

Guided by simple capacious silence

I leave open my heavy-hearted door

Forgetting cause or belief of violence

‘Til sun and moon and stars decline my grace

I take pity on the highest mountain

Let not sheer success stain my distant face

And bow down before the holy fountain

‘Til the unbothered grasp what I have wrought

‘Til bloodless justice is no longer sought

Sonnet
