So he’s gone,

Really gone

The pastor broke the news to his wife

Their son,

Only one,

Was accidentally victimized

By another fool with a real man’s gun.

Her sister

really misses her

Every time she falls asleep,

She sees her behind her eyelids

Then she awakes, of course..

It’s only ever a dream

Nobody can believe

she

Was a victim of violence,

That’s the price she’d pay,

For her mistakely deafening silence.

His mom was on life support

His dad didn’t care no more

His homie set him up for a score,

But he simply couldn’t rob the poor

People

See, he could have left the boy

Totally see through,

But he always tends to be

Sensitive when it came to people

They stole his life for a price

Some fake dollar bills

And a stolen fuckin bike

I wonder if it was worth it still,

Risking your life for a short-lived

Pathetic bag of pills

I wish the people who choose

To wish that someone needs to fail

And make sure that they lose,

Only to feel the accomplishment

Of breaking the rules

And being the one to choose,

Which gun to use

And who’s to refuse

A quick paycheck

And the right to falsely flex

Yall are killing son’s

and daddy’s out here.

Sister’s and nieces, nephews, cousins.

Brothers need to never envy each other,

We’ve got to start

Doing our part

To keep the peace

And share the streets

Because too fast,

too soon,

They been taken away

From me and you, too.
