Inviting My Demons to Tea

Sitting in my solitude…my safe haven…my room in the attic

I contemplate all that life has shown me

Stimulated my hidden beauty and creativity

Triggered my naivety, trusting and kindheartedness

Shown all shades of humanity, falseness and wickedness

I openly welcome all my demons to tea

Laying out my cards, fears and insecurities

Come sit with me one by one

Let’s have an open conversation

No holds barred

I see and understand the purpose to it all

We are created repeatedly

To experience the lessons we recall

Take the wisdoms and cycles shown

Both by shadows and light

All are teachers and guides

Instigating our rise and fall

Love a good debate and conversation

Why do some things really have to happen?

Being ripped apart, to heal and reform

Being hesitant, wary and wiser each time

Socializing with caution

Mindful of words spoken and actions taken

Wanting to fight the injustice and unfairness

Yet happy to reside in my hermit lair

Gotta get out and show my evolution

Carry my torch for a heart revolution

Demons prove that all foundations shaken

Awareness and consciousness heightened

Life isn’t always going to be rosy and fair…
