Into the Night

"My soul is stirred, into the night I go..."

By Elisa BrooksPublished 9 years ago 1 min read

I lay among sheets on a warm dark night,

Eyes wide open, spirit wanting to roam.

I look out to the stars, relentlessly bright

Blinking lights pulling me away from home.

Within their glow are the keys to the past,

Legends of life I desperately seek,

Inside orbits of fire and light amassed,

Shrouded in the dust and glitter of mystique.

The sight that spawns a numbing ecstasy,

Will make the spirit shaken and unsure,

Arousing delusions of destiny,

As if my heart was meant for even more.

My soul is stirred, into the night I go,

Longing for forever in the golden glow.
